The sound post is solid, and the instrument is structurally in good condition. The shoulder rest is attached to the chin rest pad. If you have a long neck or dropped shoulder this might not be quite enough support. But the cover for the chin rest is very comfortable. The bow has some wear from normal daily use and likely needs re-hairing soon. Being used, it does already have rosin on it. The strings are Cecilio brand, two have been replaced (hence the missing extra G and D). The humidifier is dry right now because my house is rather humid. But for travel I would prime the sponge.
You could pick it up and play immediately, and would make a great student violin. The instrument plays well and easily. It does have a slightly tinny sound due to the cheaper strings, and the fingerboard is very wide in my opinion, which is great for beginners but uncomfortable for people with smaller hands. I played it in a church orchestra for a few years, but I upgraded recently and don’t need this one.
