Original shell sign from a real refinery. This is not a reproduction novelty. Had friend who was part of a crew that was responsible for removal of these old signs and the installation of new signs. When they use to remove them they were cut off so the metal around the shell emblem is jagged . Entire white part is metal and shell emblem is a plastic. Shell emblem is upraised couple inches from the metal. The 2 pieces could be separated as they are held together by brackets on the back. We were going to build a box and install a light but life just got busy and not got around to it. You cant go just buy one like this. This is an original item. Having this is a rare opportunity as these were always destroyed after removal which was a shame. Its fairly large as you can see - that's a 1939 truck cab behind it. $700 Mt Vernon IL meet.
