Northern Exposure is an American television series that ran on CBS from 1990 to 1995, with a total of 110 episodes. The series was given a pair of consecutive Peabody Awards: in 1991–92 for the show's "depict[ion] in a comedic and often poetic way, [of] the cultural clash between a transplanted New York doctor and the townspeople of fictional Cicely, Alaska"[1] and its stories of "people of different backgrounds and experiences" clashing but ultimately "strive to accept their differences and co-exist."[1]
It received a total of 57 award nominations during its five-year run and won 27, including the 1992 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, two additional Primetime Emmy Awards, four Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globes.[2]
DVD package is in excellent condition and will make a great Christmas Gift.
Starring Ricky Gervais as the nightmare boss David Brent of a failing Paper Company. The show lasted two seasons : 12 episodes and a two part Christmas special..Every episode is dry and hilarious and Gervais kills you with his terrible deadpan and the way he plays the awkward situations out.
Many of the ealry US episodes are ripped directly from the UK with some subtle differences that are quite humorous.
This is a UK show which has standards different from US shows. As such you will hear almost all of the 7 words you can't say on TV, innuendo, and other suggestive content. It's not done in an overly coarse way and being as it's a show from Britain I almost expect this. I hope that's not insulting to anyone.
